Jack Kirby |
Charlie Chan v1 #3, 1948 - Finding a missing witness, the Chinese detective finds himself in immediate peril. Jack Kirby inserts a rescue scene within the larger setting. Despite the many figures, the layout is effectively managed without too much crowding. Joe Simon's inks enliven many of the details, particularly the clothing and various textures. Note that some comic book guides mistakenly credit inside artwork to Kirby. Other artists in this issue include Carmine Infantino and Dick Briefer. This is 3 of 6 Charlie Chan issues by Kirby. /// Kirby gallery
