Rocky Lane's Black Jack #24 - Steve Ditko art

Rocky Lane's Black Jack #24
Rocky Lane's Black Jack v1 #24, 1958 - In a pair of Steve Ditko tales, an old rancher is driven from his home by thugs and an overconfident cowboy looks for new horses to tame. Black Jack tries to right wrongs in both cases, typical for animal-featured series at the time. Ditko's drawings are simple renditions within a rigid grid of nine panels. The artist did some fine work in the 1950s, but these are tame by comparison. Other artists in this golden age comic include Bill Molno, Vince Alascia, Rocco Mastroserio and Sal Trapani. Cover by Maurice Whitman. This is 1 of 5 Rocky Lane's Black Jack issues by Ditko.
