Amazing Spider-Man v1 Annual #1, 1964 - Spidey's foes from the past year join forces as the Sinister Six. Led by Dr. Octopus, they promptly kidnap Aunt May and Betty Brandt to lure our hero into a trap. Steve Ditko delivers his longest Spider-man story yet at forty one pages. Like the regular series, his artwork is lively and entertaining. Most impressive are his six splash pages, interspersed throughout the story. Each of the six villains are represented (see interior page below) and each is exceptionally drawn and composed. This story was later reprinted in Marvel Treasury Edition #1 and Amazing Spider-man annual #6. Filling up the rest of this first issue is an abundance of pin-ups and informational pages.
