7. Alex Nino's Nightmare v1 #1, 1989 - A new kind of hero takes shape, one that inhabits the nightmares of other people and helps them gain control. Alex Nino entices readers into a journey of surrealistic landscapes and images. Similar to some of his work on 1984 magazine, he combines wide panoramic spreads and carefully sequenced panels. Nino is at his most abstract and experimental, resulting in some of his best work ever. His cover to (copper age) Nightmare's first appearance matches stylistically, although more conventional in design.
