Batman annual #9 - Alex Nino art

Batman annual v1 #9, 1985 - In Alex Nino's first and only Batman tale, perpetrators of a bank robbery disguise themselves as revolutionaries to throw off the police. Several artists contribute to this annual, but Nino's is the most jarring. His fragmented panels make several layouts much more dynamic. His illustrations, however, are far less impressive. Many of the faces and figures lack craft and consistency, diminishing the effort as a whole. Other artists in this issue include Paul Smith, Kevin O' Neill, Dan Jurgens, Jerry Ordway and John Totleben (cover). This is number 1 of 1 Batman annual issues with Nino art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Nino or Batman issues. See also this blog's Nino checklist.
