Avengers v1 #10, 1964 - A time-traveling threat named Immortus is the latest to challenge the Avengers. Jack Kirby manages to cram all the Avengers into a confined space, including the story's antagonist. Bordering on crowded, the artist's layout only suffices. The lack of a background seems to help overall, despite all the space taken up by the typography. Written by Stan Lee, this issue also includes artwork by Don Heck and Dick Ayers. This is 10 of 38 Avengers issues by Kirby. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover Immortus
