Daredevil v1 #10, 1965 - The mysterious Organizer forms a new team of criminals called the Ani-Men, due to their abilities and resemblances to animals. Birdman, Apeman, Catman and Frogman make their first appearances, soon running afoul of the Man Without Fear. Wally Wood nears the end of his run on this title, providing pencils and inks over Bob Powell's layouts. The artwork is kinetic and well executed, from the initial prison break on pages 2-3 to DD's underwater clash on pages 12-13. Wood's distinctive style permeates every page and panel, but his terrific cover design stands out.

Like his associates, Kirby and Ditko, Wood plotted most — if not all — of his Daredevil stories. But when he complained to Stan that he should be compensated, Stan said, you'd have to write every word to get "writer" credit/pay. So, Wood wrote every word of this issue, the only one he got writing credit on — though Stan did acknowledge in the letters page of DD 6, that the plot to DD 7 was by "someone in the bullpen" (Wood).
