Weird Science-Fantasy #26
Weird Science-Fantasy v1 #26, 1954 - Comprised of 1-3 page stories, this special "Flying Saucer Reports" issue deviates from the regular series format. Wally Wood illustrates many of the pages, some more finely detailed than others. His opening splash, depicting a mid-air collision of an airplane with a UFO, sets an ominous tone for the rest of the book. His best work chronicles the discovery of a Martian nuclear explosion in the single page "Was This the Answer?", with its richly drawn panels. These stories were later reprinted in Weird Science-Fantasy v3 #4. Other artists in this golden age age comic include Joe Orlando, George Evans and Reed Crandall. This is 4 of 7 Weird Science-Fantasy issues by Wood.
