X-men #212 - Barry Windsor Smith cover

X-men #212 marvel 1980s comic book cover art by Barry Windsor Smith
Barry Windsor Smith
Uncanny X-men v1 #212, 1986 - His costume shredded, Wolverine stands defiantly against a bloody swath. Barry Smith's cover is atypically violent, but effective viscerally. Admittedly, the painterly graphic in the background adds a sense of movement without sacrificing ferocity. Why Saber-tooth is mentioned but not shown on the cover is curious. Other artists in this copper age comic include Rick Leonardi and Dan Green. This is 7 of 9 X-men issues by Smith. /// Smith gallery
