Plop #18 |
Plop v1 #18, 1975 -
"Plop-ular Poetry" begins as a single page feature, a twisted parody of alphabet books for children.
Wally Wood's drawings are technically text illustrations, and have a simplicity typical of the format. While far from exceptional, his shading and modeling of the characters is consistent with some of his better efforts. Equally important to this issue are the complex framing pages toward the front and back of the book, expertly done by Sergio Aragones. Other artists in this bronze age comic includes Ric Estrada and Dave Manak. Cover by Basil Wolverton. This is 5 of 11
