Zorro: The Complete Classic Adventures by Alex Toth, volume 1, 1998 - This first volume compiles several of
Alex Toth's
Zorro issues for Dell publishing. A new introduction by Howard Chaykin shares his insights on the collection, along with a small Toth text illo. In addition, Toth supplies a new cover and interior portrait of Zorro. The stories (all in black and white) are reprinted from
Four Color Comics v2 #882 (two stories),
Four Color Comics v2 #920 (two stories),
Four Color Comics v2 #933 (three stories),
Four Color Comics v2 #960 (one story, "The Visitor") and
Four Color Comics v2 #976 (one story, "A Double For Diego"). While I still prefer the full color originals, the cover alone makes this
book a worthy addition to any Toth collection.
