Adventures Into The Unknown #27 |
Adventures Into The Unknown v1 #27, 1951 - Although the title typically features horror stories, Al Williamson's tale is more subtle and science-fiction related. After recovering from brain surgery, Laura Hastings loses consciousness and relives her past lives throughout history. Drawn with heroic flair, Williamson's art has an appropriately dream-like quality. The initial prehistoric setting has an abundance of background details, but panels showing ancient Egypt and the Caribbean are sorely lacking. All in all, the artwork displays a sophistication uncommon during the golden age. Other artists in this golden age comic include Ogden Whitney. This is 1 of 5 Adventures Into The Unknown issues by Williamson. /// Williamson gallery
