Strange Tales v1 #157 featuring Nick Fury & Doctor Strange, 1967 - Nick Fury escapes his captors, but can he escape Hydra Island and his nemesis Baron Strucker? Jim Steranko's action-packed scenes are in constant movement, packed with intricate patterns. His splash page of black and white hallucinatory drawings is less impactful than intended, but otherwise his efforts (including the cover) are admirable. Despite some obvious references to Jack Kirby, Steranko begins to find his own artistic voice. Other artists in this issue include Marie Severin and Herb Trimpe. This is 7 of 18 Strange Tales issues by Steranko. /// Steranko gallery
