New Gods v1 #18, 1978 - Compared to his previous issues, Don Newton turns in a merely adequate effort. Among the more memorable scenes is the New Gods flying above a meticulous city skyline (page five). Three splash pages are interspersed throughout the story, some more carefully drawn than others. Newton's enthusiasm may be slightly waning, but inker Dan Adkins compensates with superb finishing touches. This story was later reprinted in New Gods by Gerry Conway. Cover by Al Milgrom. This is 6 of 7 New Gods issues by Newton.
