Donald Duck / Four Color Comics v2 #300 - Carl Barks art

Donald Duck FC #300
Walt Disney's Donald Duck / Four Color Comics v2 #300, 1950 - After losing Daisy's heirloom brooch, Donald tracks the item to a traveling circus. Getting a job as a clown, he discovers the pin in the hands of a quick change artist. Carl Barks opens the tale with a splendid panel of Donald and the boys fishing as the circus arrives (see interior page below). From there, the artwork gets even better as chase ensues inside the big top. Layouts and panels become more dynamic and unconventional (pages 10-14). Interestingly, all the supporting characters are humans rather than the usual personification of animals. This golden age story was later reprinted in Donald Duck #261. This is 17 of 43 Donald Duck issues by Barks.
