The Thing v1 #15, 1954 - Considered a classic by Steve Ditko enthusiasts, a giant drooling worm destroys a town engulfed in flame. The spectacle is as strange as it is arresting, enhanced by the unusual color palette. The artistic approaches on all five Ditko tales vary slightly, but the second ("Day Of Reckoning") is more finely delineated. His characters throughout the book have mask-like faces that are creatively distorted. In the only all-Ditko issue of the series, the artist delivers a splendid collection of grotesqueries.
