Bizarre Adventures v1 #29, 1981 - Based on the Stephen King short story,
The Lawnmower Man is adapted for the first time in comics form.
Walt Simonson approaches the artwork with enthusiasm and gusto. His illustrations evoke the horrific aspects of the story with a high level of draftsmanship. Although in black and white, Simonson's textural linework on the characters' faces, grassy backgrounds and various clothing more than compensate. This is one of the artist's finest works of his period. Other artists in this bronze age comic include John Buscema, Bob Wiacek, Steve Leialoha and Steve Smallwood. This is 1 of 1

Simonson reported that Steven King himself did the script.
