Witching Hour #40 |
Witching Hour v1 #40, 1974 - An elderly woman teeters on the brink of insanity, pushed there by her ambitious son. The sharp-edged drawings of
Alex Nino add a surreal quality to an otherwise straightforward story. The son's pained expression on panel 4 page 6 is wildly distorted, diminishing the scene as a whole. That aside, Nino's work is as provocative and jarring as usual, exemplified by the ethereal first panel. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Bernard Baily and Ernie Chua. Cover by Nick Cardy. This is 2 of 4
