House of Mystery v1 #201, 1972 - Bernie Wrightson does the first of many excellent splash pages for the title. This one features a humorous portrait of Cain with the Frankenstein monster. These exquisitely rendered splashes set the tone for the rest of the book, usually surpassing much of the interior stories. Jim Aparo draws "The Demon Within", a classic tale that is among the most reprinted stories of the 1970s horror genre. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Sam Glanzman. Cover by Mike Kaluta. This is 11 of 28 House of Mystery issues by Wrightson.
