Four Color Comics #1263
77 Sunset Strip / Four Color Comics #1263, 1962 - Laid up with a broken leg, Kookie sees a murder committed through his amateur telescope. In a plot not dissimilar to Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, Russ Manning continues to grace the series with his crisp, smooth drawing style. Perhaps his best work of the issue is the large opening panel to "Where is Aunt Jennie?". This scene of an affluent suburb nicely foreshadows the trouble to come. This is 2 of 6 77 Sunset Strip issues by Manning. /// Manning gallery
