Uncle Scrooge #4 - Carl Barks art & cover

Carl Barks
Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge v1 #4, 1954 - After buying a remote deserted island, Scrooge begins transporting his money with the help of Donald and his nephews. When the Beagle Boys steal the money for themselves, the ducks get help from the rarely seen menehunes (little elves). As usual, the exotic locale inspires Carl Barks' splendid artwork. His penchant for machinery is seen in the first half of the book, while the second is enthusiastically filled with tropical flora. Of several large panels, his depiction of the island (opening scene) sets an adventurous tone. This is 4 of 70 Uncle Scrooge issues by Barks.
