Grandma Duck's Farm Friends / Four Color Comics v2 #1073 - Carl Barks art & cover

Carl Barks
Walt Disney's Grandma Duck's Farm Friends / Four Color Comics v2 #1073, 1960 - This is Carl Barks' only cover for the series, yet it seems to lack the verve of his interior pages. In one story, Gyro Gearloose invents snow vaporizer with the usual unintended consequences. Uncle Scrooge visits Grandma Duck's farm and gets a lesson on winter fun from Huey, Louie and Dewey. Barks draws the characters with great humor and great care. The opening non-Barks story clearly suffers by comparison. "Touche Toupee" was later reprinted in Walt Disney Comics Digest #39. This is number 2 of 3 Grandma Duck's Farm Friends issues with Barks art and/or covers.
