(Walt Disney's) Dumbo v1 / Four Color v1 #17, 1941 - Following the debut of the Disney film, Dell published this comic book adaptation later the same year. Drawn by Irving Tripp, "Dumbo of the Circus" is a lengthy thirty-nine pages and makes up the bulk of the issue. A second adaptation would emerge in the 1950s with a shorter page count. More features within the same book include reprinted newspaper strips of Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse and Pluto. Other artists in this issue include Al Taliaferro, Floyd Gottfredson and Manuel Gonzales.
