G.I. Combat v1 #81, 1960 - Marking their first cover appearance, Jeb Stuart and the rest of the Haunted Tank crew are attacked by an enemy plane. As the aircraft explodes, their vehicle teeters on the edge of a makeshift bridge. Richly colored, Russ Heath's cover is dramatically lit and beautifully detailed. There's also a heightened tension due to proximity of the plane. Readers can almost feel the searing heat from what seems to be an imminent collision.
