Steve Ditko |
Amazing Spider-man v1 #14, 1964 - The
Green Goblin makes his first appearance in this silver age classic, just in time for the Hulk to enter the fray. No stranger to depicting 'ol greenskin,
Steve Ditko nicely captures both the brute's ferocity and Spider-man's agility. Plenty of details abound in the drawings, displaying the artist's confidence on the series. Ditko's cover is adequate, but his opening splash is more dynamic in introducing Spidey's deadliest foe. This early Stan Lee story was later reprinted in
Marvel Treasury Edition #1. This is 14 of 38
