Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #42 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #42
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #42, 1944 - Are boys better at kite flying than girls? Donald Duck and the boys test out the theory firsthand. Carl Barks' layouts are stiffer and less breezy than previous issues. Still, the kite-flying theme allows for plenty of airborne sight gags. Curiously, Donald Duck appears in drag not once, but twice in the same story. Other characters featured in this issue include Mickey Mouse and Bucky Bug. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Taliaferro. Cover by Walt Kelly. This is 11 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
