Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #40 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #40
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #40, 1944 - An unexpected snow day turns into a full day of skiing for Donald Duck and the boys. Mostly set in the snow-covered mountains, Carl Barks uses scale and distance to heighten several of the humorous scenarios. Perhaps most impressive is the large opening panel, a leafless tree and a ski shop establish the seasonal setting. Also featured in this issue are Mickey Mouse and Bucky Bug. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Taliaferro. Cover by Walt Kelly. This is 9 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
