First Love Illustrated v1 #69, 1956 - A young couple kisses affectionately, oblivious to their fellow costumed guests. This costume party theme cleverly provides more opportunity for visual interest. Jack Kirby's cover has a clear hierarchy of figures, but the layout and drawing is less compelling. While obvious, the "knight in shining armor" metaphor still works well in this scenario. Other artists in this golden age comic include Leonard Starr, Bill Draut and Bob Powell.
