Amazing Spider-man #12 - Steve Ditko art & cover

Steve Ditko
Amazing Spider-man v1 #12, 1964 - Defeated by Doctor Octopus, Spider-man's secret identity is revealed for all to see. Steve Ditko's drawings are more dynamic, thanks to more varied page layouts. In a scene where escaped zoo animals roam the city, the artist's renditions border on the clumsy. The story's climax occurs in a vast art studio, where oversized sculptures add scale and increase visual impact. Ditko's cover is adequately intriguing. This is number 12 of 38 Amazing Spider-man issues with Ditko art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Ditko or Amazing Spider-Man issues. See also this blog's Ditko checklist.
