Mister Miracle v1 #16, 1973 - Does Shilo Norman really see weird insectoid creatures or are they figments of his imagination? Mr. Miracle and crew find out one way or another, drawn masterfully by Jack Kirby. Although his cover seems hurried, the artist's story pages are spectacular in both rendering and design. Four full page splashes heighten drama and tension (see interior page below). Even better is Kirby's often-used two-page spread toward the story's beginning. The entire cast is strategically placed within a grand composition of escape artist props and vehicles. This is 16 of 18 Mister Miracle issues by Kirby. /// Kirby gallery
