Batman #346 |
Batman v1 #346, 1982 - For his first full Batman feature, Don Newton does a superlative job. Two-Face suddenly escapes prison and takes over a local halfway house. The artist employs plenty of dark, brooding shadows to create a film noir atmosphere. His layouts are varied just enough to maintain interest. Most significant is Newton's twisted portrait of Two-Face on the opening splash. This story was later reprinted in
Tales of the Batman: Gerry Conway TPB #2. Other artists in this copper age comic include Trevor Von Eeden and Pablo Marcos. Cover by Rich Buckler and Dick Giordano. This is 8 of 32
