Superboy #239 - Jim Starlin art & non-attributed cover

Jim Starlin
Superboy (and the Legion of Super-Heroes) v1 #239, 1978 - Did Ultra Boy commit murder? The Legion must capture him to find out for sure, which is no easy feat. At thirty-four pages, this story is among Jim Starlin's longest of his career. Although only credited with layouts, his style dominates every page and panel. His most powerful scenes include the splash of the Legionnaires' arrival (page 6) and Ultra Boy's battle with the team's strongest members (pages 25-28). Mike Grell and Joe Rubinstein are credited on the cover, but the figure drawings and stances point to Starlin doing the layout. This is 2 of 4 Superboy issues by Starlin.
