Teen-age Romances v1 #3, 1949 - In a trio of Matt Baker stories, one girl tries to derail her mother's engagement, another tries to undercut a rival and a third uses her feminine wiles to toy with different men. Baker's drawings shine throughout, even with the all ponderous dialogue balloons. Of the three, "I Was Afraid to Fall in Love" is drawn a tad better than the others. Interestingly, the story also contains a spanking scene, strangely inappropriate by today's standards (see interior page below). All three tales were reprinted in Diary Secrets #11. Other artists in this golden age comic include Chuck Miller. This is 3 of 42 Teen-age Romances issues by Baker
