Fightin' Army #89 - Steve Ditko art

Fightin' Army #89
Fightin' Army v1 #89, 1970 - In the village of St. Pierre, Nazis hold children hostage to keep the Americans from shelling the town. Steve Ditko's graphic style seems mismatched for this grave situation, but the artwork suffices. Multi-scene panels (such as the interior page below) and other techniques reinforce the storytelling. Several night-time panels also use more detail and texture. This story was later reprinted in Fightin' Army #160. Other artists in this bronze age comic include include Rocco Mastroserio and Sam Glanzman. Cover by Glanzman. This is 2 of 4 Fightin' Army issues by Ditko.
