Forbidden Worlds #140 - Steve Ditko art

Forbidden Worlds #140
Forbidden Worlds v1 #140, 1966 - After hearing of a man haunted by a gradually materializing ghost, a famous psychiatrist intervenes on his behalf. Of several Steve Ditko works on this series, this is his longest page count and his first main feature. His large opening panel is well designed, with its various patterns, shapes and line thicknesses. Beyond that, however, Ditko's hurried and sometimes sloppy approach is transparent. Sal Trapani, though a frequent collaborator, never seems to mesh their respective styles effectively. Other artists in this silver age horror comic include Paul Reinman, Tom Hickey, Ogden Whitney and Kurt Schaffenberger. This is 3 of 3 Forbidden Worlds issues by Ditko.
