Captain America #244 - Frank Miller cover

Frank Miller
Captain America v1 #244, 1980 - Up against a highly deformed foe, Cap braces himself on Frank Miller's second cover on the series. Somewhat straightforward, the artist uses wooden boards and the Avenger's shield to loosely form a tilted parallelogram shape. This is turn encloses the antagonist and creates the focal point. Al Milgrom's inks largely maintain the integrity of Miller's pencils. Other artists in this issue include Don Perlin and Tom Sutton. This is number 2 of 4 Captain America issues with Miller art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Miller or Captain America issues. See also this blog's Frank Miller checklist.
