What If (Iron Man Had Been a Traitor?) special #1 - Steve Ditko art + 1st issue

What If special #1
What If (Iron Man Had Been a Traitor?) v1 special #1, 1988 - Changing a critical event in Iron Man's origin, this tale presents an interesting alternate future. At thirty-plus pages, this is one of Steve Ditko's lengthiest stories to date. Unfortunately, the artwork is ill-suited for the rather serious plot. Too many panels are oversimplified and many of the drawings (especially the characters' faces) border on cartoonish. Pat Redding's inks add detail in too few scenes and provide little enhancement overall. This issue also includes artwork by Al Milgrom. Cover by Milgrom and Jack Abel. This is 1 of 1 What If special issues by Ditko. /// key 1st issue
