Adventures Into Darkness #9 - Alex Toth art

Adventures Into Darkness #9
Adventures Into Darkness v1 #9, 1952 - Set in Barcelona, a Spanish dictator discovers his fiancee's plan to escape with the country's most famous matador. This pre-code horror story could be Alex Toth's bloodiest and most disturbing. Still, most of the artwork is tastefully done with special attention paid to page layout and sequencing. The best scenes occur toward the end, having little or no dialogue to emphasize the climactic imagery. Other artists in this golden age comic include Mike Sekowsky and Nick Cardy. This is 3 of 3 Adventures Into Darkness issues by Toth.
