Northwest Mounties #4 - Matt Baker art & cover

Matt Baker
Northwest Mounties v1 #4, 1949 - A clean-cut heroic Mountie graces Matt Baker's multi-panel cover. The smaller scenes preview the stories inside, although the artist only illustrates one of them. Interestingly, it's told in documentary style, explaining the various duties of the Canadian Mounties and the laws they uphold. While informative, the panels are full of dialogue and narrative text, constraining much of Baker's artwork. This story was later reprinted in Approved Comics #12. This is number 4 of 4 Northwest Mounties issues with Baker art and/or covers.
