All Star Comics #50 |
All-Star Comics v1 #50, 1949 - Few people know that Frank Frazetta contributed to this long running Justice Society of America title. Rather than doing a chapter featuring a JSA member (typical for the series), he instead draws a back-up tale of one man's ordeal in the wilderness. The artist's renditions of animals vary widely, from a less-than-convincing grizzly bear to his anatomically confident horses and mountain lions. Despite only three pages, this true-life adventure benefits from Frazetta's gritty style. Other artists in this golden age comic include Arthur F. Peddy and Bernard Sachs, This is 1 of 1 All-Star Comics issues by Frazetta.
