Doctor Strange v2 #5 - Frank Brunner art & cover

Frank Brunner

Doctor Strange v2 #5, 1974 - The Silver Dagger reveals his origin, while nearing his final confrontation with Doctor Strange. Frank Brunner's last story for the series maintains his distinctive approach. His drawings are enthusiastic and his layouts varied. His cover is even better, depicting the hero's timely arrival and Clea's rescue. The contrast between light and dark is stark, characteristic of the artist's dramatic style. Though the end of his run, Brunner firmly establishes Doctor Strange as one of his signature characters. This story was first reprinted in Doctor Strange Special Edition #1. This is number 5 of 11 Doctor Strange issues with Brunner art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Brunner or Doctor Strange issues.
