Thor v1 #344, 1984 - Thor appears only in cameo as this tale centers around his fellow Asgardian, Balder the Brave. Tasked with bringing a message to Loki, Balder must survive deadly obstacles along the way. Meanwhile, Loki has accepted an offer from the dark elf Malekith. Walt Simonson's cover employs a radial layout with a color palette that emphasizes the fallen figure. It's a little too loosely rendered for my tastes, but the artist's story pages generally meet expectations. Check out the terrific sequencing in the interior page below.
