The Unexpected #191 - non-attributed Marshall Rogers art

The Unexpected v1 #191, 1979 - A village gravedigger surreptitiously robs the corpses, over the objections of his good wife. The layouts are atypically dull for a Marshall Rogers story. His pencils are further hampered by the Bob Layton's inks, whose heavy-handedness stifles any remaining spontaneity. Rogers' diagonal panel grid on page five is the sole point of interest, a technique that should have been used more frequently to break up the monotony. Other artists in this issue include Alfredo Alcala, Gerry Talaoc, Nestor Malgapo, Fred Carrillo, E.R. Cruz, Steve Bissette, Vincente Alcazar, Jerry Grandenetti, John Calnan, Vince Colletta and Joe Orlando (cover). This is number 1 of 1 Unexpected issues with Rogers art and/or covers.
