Durango Kid #16 |
Durango Kid v1 #16, 1952 - Frank Frazetta ends his run of Dan Brand and Tipi stories with mixed reviews. The two heroes deliver monetary aid to the Continental Army, only to be robbed by spies and brigands. The large opening panel of Dan and his opponent is devoid of background details. A few of Frazetta's figure drawings are also mis-proportioned or poorly foreshortened. One of his best panels shows Dan fighting off a mob (see interior page below), but as a whole the artwork falls just short of expectations. This story was later reprinted in White Indian #13. Other artists in this issue include Joe Certa (Durango Kid stories). This is 16 of 16 Durango Kid issues by Frazetta. /// Frazetta gallery
