Unknown Worlds #49 - Steve Ditko art

Unknown Worlds v1 #49, 1966 - Borrowing the title from a Frank Sinatra movie, this tale of a professional baseball player bears no resemblance to the film. Steve Ditko ekes out this tale with seemingly little effort, often crowding the panels with repetitive drawings. Sad to say, his work for the American Comics Group is less memorable as a whole than than that of competing publishers. Other artists in this issue include Pete Costanza, George Wilhelms, Odgen Whitney and Lou Wahl (cover). This is number 2 of 4 Unknown Worlds issues with Ditko art and/or covers.
