Adventures of the Fly v1 #2, 1959 - A Joe Simon /
Jack Kirby creation, the Fly lacked some of the artistry and panache of their previous efforts. Kirby's bold layouts appear throughout the book, but his pencils are less evident on certain pages. His bold, panoramic center spread is among the highlights.
Al Williamson's effort (his only golden age super-hero tale) falls flat compared to his other works from the same era. With the exception of the opening panel and a few others (see 2nd interior page below), his drawings seem less inspired and enthusiastic than usual. "One of our Skyscrapers is Missing" and "The Master of Junk-Ri-La" were later reprinted in
Blue Ribbon Comics v3 #1. This is 2 of 2
