In Love #5 - Jack Kirby cover

Jack Kirby
In Love v1 #5, 1955 - Falling in love with a fireman, a young woman must come to terms with the dangers of his profession. In an issue with mostly forgettable artwork, Jack Kirby provides this tender cover illustration. As a fire continues to blaze in the background, a fireman gets medical attention while in his girlfriend's embrace. Although confined by the large masthead above and the story titles on the left, the artist effectively captures the emotional toll of the main character. This is number 5 of 6 In Love issues with Kirby art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Kirby or In Love issues. See also this blog's Kirby checklist.
