Love Letters #50 |
Love Letters v1 #50, 1956 - A young woman falls for a department store owner's son, receiving lavish gifts while hoping for an engagement ring.
Matt Baker's style is not immediately apparent, mostly due to the streamlined inking. The style is strikingly similar to the other stories within the same issue, which suggest another artist provided the finishes. Baker's facial close-ups are also more common, perhaps a tad too many in this case. Most romance comics are dialogue-heavy, but this one seems to be more crowded than usual. Other artists in this golden age romance comic include Sam Citron. This is 2 of 3
