Green Lantern v2 #148 |
Green Lantern v2 #148, 1982 - Don Newton illustrates an interesting back-up story of a squirrel-like alien life-form who also happens to be a Green Lantern. The heroic Ch’P is aptly named, and seems to be a nod to the Walt Disney chipmunks Chip n’ Dale. Newton draws the character with all sincerity, and pulls it off quite well. His opening splash is disarming at first, but the beautiful rendering of Ch’P’s rescue of a helicopter stands on its own merits. This story was later reprinted in Tales of the Green Lantern Corps trade paperback #1. Other artists in this comic include Joe Staton. Cover by Staton and Steve Mitchell. This is 1 of 3 Green Lantern v2 issues by Newton.
