Vault of Evil #3 - Frank Brunner cover

Frank Brunner
Vault of Evil v1 #3, 1973 - Two men gaze upon an ancient shield, only to find themselves confronted by the mythological Medusa. Frank Brunner's illustration is frightening, but tempered by the cover's jewel-like color palette. Note how the configuration of snakes varies between foreground and mirror, but not to the detriment of overall design. The issue's contents comprise of various Atlas horror stories from the 1950s-1960s. This is number 2 of 2 Vault of Evil issues with Brunner art and/or covers.
